Video compression is a process that makes the images to occupy lower disk space. After that the image should be decompressed to be correctly previewed.

XviD MPEG-4 Codec is a video compressor that uses very efficient MPEG-4 algorithm, designed also to work under MS Windows. Compression is made basing on relation between adjacent frames. Only changes between succesive frames are writen to file. It gives great compression efficiency but it takes longer time to access and view frames - decompression of all former frames is necessary.
